Broken camera. . .

So I went to go take a picture of Caroline doing something totally adorable the other day and my camera is broken :( Can't take any new pics, but here are the last of what I had taken recently.
Maybe Santa will bring me a new one. . . .

Yummy!

Tried cereal for the first time this morning. She wasn't sure what to think. She kept getting upset when the spoon wasn't in her mouth - guess that's a good sign. She loved sitting in her high chair too! We'll try some more later this afternoon :)

4 months

Caroline had her 4 month check up this morning. The doc was very pleased with how she's doing! She weighs 11 pounds 8 ounces now. . .she's getting so big! She had a couple of shots today so she took a few extra long naps and we just lounged around and gave her some extra love (if that's even possible!) We got the OK to start cereal this week - I'll be posting pics of the event as soon as it happens!

Best Friends :)

Caroline is extremely binky dependent when it comes to falling asleep. Seriously, if they had a support group she'd be president. Anyway. . . I got tired of running up and down the stairs to put the binky back in and I was trying to figure out a way for her to hold it in herself. She likes to grab it and pull it out so her own hand is not an option. She also likes to hold your fingers and arm while you're on binky patrol so I decided she needed something to keep her hands full as well as hold her binky in. Enter Blackie. . . .
Aren't they adorable? Blackie belonged to Erik when he was a baby and was given to me by Grandma Gail at my shower. Too cute!

Ready for real food?

Caroline was watching me eat a bowl of cereal the other day and this is what she kept doing...

She has continued to do this for the past week or so while we eat and it makes us feel bad! We visit the doctor on Monday so hopefully we'll get the ok to try cereal - I think she's ready!
(There is no sound to the video - I muted it because I sounded absolutely ridiculous!)

Halloween

Caroline celebrated her first Halloween yesterday! She had a few festive outfits to wear. She and I tried to head to Windsor to trick-or-treat at the grandparents houses (Dad had to work). Well, the little miss didn't seem to thrilled with all the travelling so we only made one stop. She got one piece of candy (which Daddy ate today) and then we headed home. It was quite an experience. We had fun (well I did anyway!) She was the cutest giraffe I've ever seen! Hard to believe she's four months old already!

3 months!

Caroline had a 3 month weight check at the doctor on Monday. The doctor just wanted to make sure she was continuing to gain weight (Caroline hadn't gained much weight at her 2 month visit - the doc suspected she might just be a slow gainer - don't we all wish we had that problem!) Anyway, she weighed in at 10 pounds 4 ounces - finally double digits! The doc was pleased and so were we. Here are a couple new pics of what we've been up to these past few weeks.

New Pics!

Lots has happened since my last post! We're adjusting to our new routine with Mommy going back to work and Caroline is being a superstar! She's sleeping very well at night and is an angel at day care - all the kids love her! I think she's paying us back for those rough nights her first few weeks home. :)
Over the past few weeks, Caroline has discovered her fist and we figured out that she likes to sit up on the couch!

Last weekend we took a trip to Massachusetts to attend Abby's baby shower and so Mommy could run in the Lone Gull 10k (which she actually finished by the way!). We stayed at Auntie Carol's house in the most comfy bed and it was a bit chilly on race day so we had to bundle up.

Last night our friends Mike and Caitlin came over for dinner with their daughter Emma. Mike's mom makes the girls the cutest little hats (remember the strawberry hat? see the Vermont post below if you've forgotten). Well in the spirit of Fall and Halloween the lastest hats are pumpkin hats! Too cute! Thanks Lindley :)

The fun is over

After 10 wonderful weeks of spending all of my time with Caroline I have to go back to work tomorrow. I think this sums up how we both feel about the whole thing. . .

Smiley

Hard to believe that Caroline is seven weeks old this week! She's growing so much every day and I can't stand it! She's awake more during the day and she's getting more interactive. She just opens up her big gorgeous eyes and takes it all in. She tends to chit chat a little bit and has started to smile and laugh in response to us - not just at the wall or when she's going to spit up! Its the best feeling. I got a picture of one of these little smiles and some video but I couldn't figure out how to get it into just a tiny clip so the picture will have to do for now.
Smiley girl!
Sitting with Auntie Allie checking everything out - if I remember correctly she seemed intrigued by the lamp!

Our First Family Vacation

Last weekend we packed up the car

and Caroline
and we headed up to Vermont for the weekend. We had an awesome time! Caroline did very well on her first long road trip. She slept most of the time and even allowed us to get some extra sleep! We're looking forward to going again next year!
